The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, is involved in drug trafficking investigations by the United States government, a prestigious columnist, Raymundo Riva Palacio, asserted in his column this Monday, October 20.
In his column published in El Financiero and other national newspapers such as El Informador de Guadalajara, the political columnist wrote on Monday, October 20th:
“Lemus is allegedly part of a long list of 300 names of politicians, businessmen, artists, and athletes that the US government provided to the Mexican government, although he is not on a shorter list of 12, against whom Washington has asked Mexico to initiate investigations and prosecute them in this country.
The name of the governor of Jalisco had not been revealed to the public until the arrest of Ramírez, whom Mexican authorities accuse of being an operator of the CNG (National Commission for National Security), involved in extortion and drug distribution.”
After listing a series of facts that appear to connect Governor Pablo Lemus to criminal groups or acts, the columnist closes his column with this paragraph:
“According to investigations, Lemus’s name does not appear on the list of 50 Morena politicians and officials and a dozen members of other parties whose visas to enter the United States were revoked. However, according to the official report, the State Department is evaluating whether to take such action against him. If so, he would be the second sitting governor, after Marina del Pilar Ávila, to have his visa revoked.”
