Morelia Prosecutor’s Office initiated an investigation to determine responsibilities for an accident on the Carrera Panamericana that left 9 seriously injured.
The Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) has opened an investigation into an accident that occurred this morning during the Carrera Panamericana race on the Mil Cubres highway, near the municipality of Charo.
According to the report, a vehicle participating in the event lost control and went off the road, colliding with some people standing on the side of the road.
In this terrible incident, nine people were injured and taken to different hospitals for treatment, where they received medical attention; only one, a 69-year-old, was hospitalized.
Personnel from the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office visited the hospital to carry out initial investigations and continue the investigation to clarify the events.
According to media to testimonies on social networks, the public was standing in a forbidden area that was previously cordoned off to prevent accidents.
