On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the island of Cozumel hosted the highly anticipated AsTri Cozumel 2025 Triathlon, drawing hundreds of elite and amateur athletes to the turquoise shores of Quintana Roo. The event, organized by Asdeporte and sanctioned by the Mexican Triathlon Federation (FMTRI), featured multiple race formats including Olympic, Sprint, Super Sprint, Duathlon, and the WomanUp category.
Starting at dawn from Parque Chankanaab, participants swam in the crystal-clear Caribbean waters, cycled along scenic coastal roads, and ran through shaded beachfront paths. The Olympic distance challenged athletes with a 1.5 km swim, 40 km bike ride, and 10 km run, while the Sprint and Super Sprint formats offered shorter, fast-paced alternatives.
The triathlon also included the 3Kids race for children aged 6 to 13, promoting family participation and youth engagement in sports. Spectators lined the course, cheering on competitors and enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Winners in each age category were honored during a midday awards ceremony, while all WomanUp finishers received commemorative medals in celebration of female empowerment through sport.
With its stunning setting and inclusive spirit, AsTri Cozumel 2025 reaffirmed its status as one of Mexico’s premier triathlon events.
