The protest began around 11:00 a.m., when students and relatives of the disappeared arrived at the scene to demand answers about the case. Members of the Army attempted to block the protesters’ path by forming a human chain, but were unable to prevent the truck from being used to knock down the access gate.
During the demonstration, protesters also threw rockets and blunt objects at the front of the military base, located on Conscripto Avenue in Naucalpan, State of Mexico. At 1:00 p.m., the truck managed to break the fence, and the hooded individuals set it on fire, causing it to burn completely.
Around 1:10 p.m., a military tank arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames with a stream of water, extinguishing the fire in the vehicle that had been taken over by the protesters.
