A new press report indicates that the most anticipated announcement will be made official during the weekend of September 5-7 at Monza.

Mexican driver Sergio Pérez will return to Formula One in 2026, and the official announcement of his signing with the Cadillac team will be made next month, according to a press report.

According to PlanetF1.com, a specialized motorsports outlet, between September 5 and 7, when the Italian Grand Prix takes place, the wait will end, and Checo’s arrival at the American team, which will debut in the top category next year, will be finalized.

Various sources have informed PlanetF1.com that Pérez has reached an agreement with Cadillac that will allow him to return to the grid, with an announcement expected for the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.

During the first half of this year, following his departure from Red Bull in December, Checo has stated in various interviews that he is interested in returning to a project that guarantees him competitiveness and that fully fulfills him.

“You never know when you’re in the final stretch, which is why I’m very happy that this is happening today,” says the Guadalajara native in the video shared on his Instagram account, in which he appears in various locations, including a racetrack.

In addition to Cadillac, another of the teams with which the Mexican driver has allegedly been in talks is Alpine.
