On Sunday, August 10, 2025, shock-rock icon Marilyn Manson delivered a powerful and theatrical performance at the Feria Nacional Potosina (FENAPO) in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, drawing an unprecedented crowd of over 100,000 attendees. The concert, held at the Teatro del Pueblo within the fairgrounds, was part of the festival’s international music lineup and was offered completely free to the public.

Fans began gathering outside the venue hours before the show, some camping overnight to secure prime spots near the stage. Manson’s signature dark aesthetic and provocative stage presence captivated the massive audience, as he performed hits like “The Beautiful People” and “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)” amid dramatic lighting and gothic visuals.

Despite the excitement, the event stirred controversy. Religious groups in the region protested Manson’s appearance, citing concerns over his artistic themes. Over 6,000 signatures were collected in an attempt to block the performance, and a symbolic protest involving a cow’s head placed outside the Cathedral Metropolitana added to the tension. Nonetheless, local authorities maintained order, and the concert proceeded without incident.

The show marked one of the largest turnouts in FENAPO’s history, underscoring the festival’s growing reputation as a cultural and musical powerhouse in Mexico. Manson’s performance was a highlight of the fair, which runs from August 8 to 31 and features a wide array of entertainment, food, and family-friendly activities.

This landmark concert not only reaffirmed Marilyn Manson’s enduring appeal but also showcased San Luis Potosí’s capacity to host world-class events on a massive scale.
