A new highway that promises to transform transportation in the state of Nayarit is nearing completion.

The Tepic-Compostela Highway is now 87% complete, with final delivery scheduled for October 31, 2025, according to officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation (SICT) and representatives of the company Motangil México, responsible for the project.

With a total length of 26 kilometers, this highway aims to reduce travel time between the cities of Tepic and Compostela by half, from 50 to 25 minutes. It also provides direct connections to the Amado Nervo International Airport via a 2.4-kilometer branch.

The design includes two lanes in each direction, side shoulders, and complementary infrastructure that includes 10 bridges, railroad crossings, and a toll plaza, all focused on providing faster and safer transit for thousands of users.

In addition to facilitating mobility for the region’s residents, the highway will boost tourism and commercial activity by improving access to strategic destinations like Puerto Vallarta, whose journey time is currently estimated at one hour and 25 minutes from Tepic.
