The Los Cabos Tourism Trust and Copa Airlines have announced the launch of a new direct flight between Panama and Los Cabos, which is set to begin operations on December 4, 2025, and represents an important milestone for both Los Cabos and Colombia.
The route, the first to connect Los Cabos with Latin America, is estimated to generate an annual flow of more than 25,000 tourists from Central and South America.
This news is significant for Colombia, as it follows territories in North America, and the country currently attracts the most visitors to Los Cabos. In 2024, more than 7,400 Colombians will choose this destination, attracted by its luxury, nature, and well-being.
“The new direct route between Panama and Los Cabos represents a fundamental step to diversify and strengthen international tourism in Mexico.” By facilitating access from key markets in Central and South America, we are boosting not only visitor arrivals but also the economic development of our community and region,” said Maribel Collins, head of the Baja California Sur Secretariat of Tourism and Economy (SETUE).
The main markets with the greatest potential for Los Cabos, in addition to Colombia, include Panama, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, and Peru, countries with a growing affinity for sun and beach destinations, where Copa Airlines already has an extensive network of successful connections.
