Pitbull, the internationally renowned singer and recording artist, has announced plans to open a school in Mexico that will support children with special needs. The initiative is part of his ongoing commitment to education, a central focus of his philanthropic efforts.

During his performance at the Tecate Emblema festival in Mexico City, Pitbull shared his vision for bringing his educational model to Mexico. His existing school, SLAM (Sports Leadership and Management), was founded in Miami in 2013 and provides free education with a focus on sports and leadership. Now, he aims to adapt this model to serve children with special needs in Mexico, ensuring they receive quality education and opportunities for personal growth.

The new school, tentatively named “Escuela Global Pitbull,” will be located in Iztapalapa, one of Mexico City’s most underserved areas. It will offer a curriculum that integrates traditional academic subjects with specialized programs in entrepreneurship, arts, and language studies. The institution will also provide tailored support for students with disabilities, ensuring they have access to resources that cater to their unique learning needs.

Pitbull emphasized that education transformed his own life, and he hopes to inspire young people to dream big and achieve their goals. His foundation, SLAM!, has already made a significant impact in the U.S., Cuba, and Colombia, and this expansion into Mexico marks a new chapter in his mission to empower youth through education.

Construction is expected to begin in August 2025, with the school set to open its doors in January 2026. The project has garnered support from local authorities and nonprofit organizations, ensuring that it will provide scholarships and financial aid to students in need.
