María G. Villa V. was a Mexican lawyer and former public defender for the Poder Judicial de Oaxaca. She was tragically killed alongside her partner, Josué Baños G., on May 21, 2025, in Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca.
The bodies of María G. Villa V., a lawyer and former public defender for the Oaxaca Judiciary, and her partner, Josué Baños G., a gym instructor, were found near the new municipal cemetery in Santiago Pinotepa Nacional, on the Oaxaca Coast.
According to initial reports, they were partially wrapped in black nylon bags, so the State Attorney General’s Office has already opened an investigation to clarify the facts.
María G. Villa V., approximately 40 years old, recently worked as a private attorney in the region.
As mentioned before, their bodies were found near the municipal cemetery, partially wrapped in black plastic bags. Villa had recently left her public defender role to practice private litigation in the Costa region.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the double homicide, but no official statements have been released yet. Her death adds to the growing concerns over violence against women in Oaxaca.
