Heavy rains recently hit Tamaulipas, leaving significant damage, most visible this Thursday. According to reports, Reynosa was the hardest-hit area.
Images circulating on social media show damage to hundreds of homes caused by the floods, while residents are working to provide necessary support.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Américo Villarreal, arrived in Reynosa this morning with the National Director of Civil Protection, Laura Velázquez, to assess the damage and work on solutions for those affected, in coordination with members of the National Defense Department following the activation of Plan DN-III-E.
The Reynosa government has opened the UAT Gymnasium and the Municipal Auditorium as shelters for those in need.
