This is the largest clandestine laboratory seized during the current federal administration.

The Mexican Navy seized and neutralized a clandestine mega-laboratory used by the “Los Chapitos” faction of the Sinaloa Cartel for the production of methamphetamine.

In the town of Carrizalillo, Zacatecas, a 395-square-meter property was identified, where chemical precursors—primarily tartaric acid—were found, as well as reactors, drums, mixers, gas tanks, condensers, among other items.

According to sources from the Security Cabinet, the facility was run by Luis Fernando A., the operator of a criminal organization belonging to “La Chapiza,” who is also a target of federal security forces for possession of proprietary firearms and possession of synthetic drugs.

The seized laboratory could produce nearly 28,000 kilograms of methamphetamine, equivalent to more than 698 million doses.

This is the largest drug lab seized during the current administration. The Navy has seized more than 34,232 kilograms of methamphetamine during the current administration.
