Verónica Cruz has sought to spread the story of her son, Robert Esteban, who was allegedly a victim of forced recruitment by the CJNG (CJNG), which led him to become a hitman against his will.

Approaching various media outlets, she reported that the young man, barely 16 years old, left the State of Mexico in response to a job offer in Jalisco, at the end of March 2024.

Since then, although they maintained communication for a time, after a strange message, she hasn’t heard from him. With the recent discovery of the Rancho Izaguirre extermination camp, she suspects her son may have been there.

Shortly before her last communication with him, his sister received a call from someone identifying himself as Robert. Amid heartbreaking tears, he confessed that he was a hitman and that if he left, they would kill him, but that if he died there, he would watch over them from heaven.
