Claudia Sheinbaum, president of Mexico, appointed Edgar Amador, undersecretary in the same institution, as the new head of the Ministry of Finance.

She explained that Ramírez de la O had already planned to retire from the position, but he stayed until now at the president’s request. Now that he has decided to leave, the president again offered him a new position.

Rogelio Ramírez de la O will now be an international economic advisor, which Sheinbaum highlighted as a good opportunity to address issues such as Donald Trump’s tariffs.
