EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A brother and sister from Texas have died after they were recently found unconscious inside an Airbnb while on a vacation in Mexico City, according to Telediario, a newspaper in Mexico.

Mexican police say Laura Morales, 37, and Hugo Iván Morales, 35, were found on Tuesday, Feb. 25, after they responded to reports of an unconscious person at the Airbnb.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found that one of the burners of the gas stove was slightly turned on, which might have led to a gas leak and carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Telediario.

According to a GoFundMe started by their family in El Paso, they both died of carbon monoxide poisoning. However, their cause of death has not been confirmed by officials.
