A clandestine laboratory with more than seven tons of methamphetamine seized in Nayarit

In the municipality of Compostela, in Nayarit, agents of the Security Cabinet located the facilities of a clandestine laboratory that was used for the manufacture of methamphetamine, in addition to finding more than seven tons of this illicit substance.

Chemical precursors used for the preparation of the aforementioned narcotics were also confiscated, as authorities reported on February 12.

Agents from the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense) and the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) were traveling along a dirt road in the town of Zapotán when they found the clandestine lab in the middle of the woods.

Local media reports detail that the value of the seized drugs would be 90 million pesos, while the economic impact of the seizure of the precursors found at the site would be 9 million 22 thousand pesos, which would give a total value of more than 99.2 million pesos.

No people were reported arrested for the discovery of the facilities in Zapotán. The seized substances were placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry, the agency in charge of investigations into crimes against health.
