Sonora is the second state with the highest industrial growth in Mexico, according to Inegi.
Hermosillo, Sonora.- The state of Sonora has established itself as one of the main drivers of industrial growth in Mexico, reaching an increase of 7.4% in October 2024, which places it as the second state with the highest growth nationwide, only below Tamaulipas.
According to the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF), of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), Sonora has shown a trend of sustained growth, standing out in various key areas of the industry. In particular, the manufacturing industries sector experienced a notable increase of 12.5%, which places the state in first place on the northern border in terms of progress in manufacturing.
Governor Durazo highlighted that these results are proof of the success of strategies such as the Sonora Plan. In addition, the state recorded a 9.7% increase in the construction sector and 8.7% in the energy sector, further reinforcing Sonora’s relevance as a key industrial destination.
