An impressive achievement by Lorena Ramírez!

The Rarámuri runner has completed the Hong Kong Ultramarathon, once again demonstrating her incredible endurance and determination.

Lorena, known for her talent and indomitable spirit, has conquered this international challenge, adding another feat to her already impressive career.

With that extraordinary endurance to test herself among her mestizo or Chabochi rivals, as the Rarámuri call them.

The 30-year-old from the state of Chihuahua crossed the finish line in Hong Kong, with a time of 26 hours, 2 minutes and 12 seconds, in front of hundreds of people who arrived on roads full of curves, where it is possible not to see a car for dozens of kilometers.

Lorena’s race ended when exhaustion made her steps harder. The injuries to her feet, caused by the material of her sandals and socks, forced her to sit on plastic chairs to be treated by the competition doctors.

It is not the first time this has happened to her. Only in competitions like the Mexico City Marathon, on cement surfaces, does she accompany her traditional outfit with sports shoes. Like many Tarahumara Indians, she only runs to live, because the most important thing is not in her feet, but in her mind.

Lorena does not have a permanent job and does not use a stopwatch when she crosses streams and follows paths.

Her diet includes beans and pinole, potato stews, and flour tortillas freshly made over firewood.

Her participation is not only a personal triumph, but also an inspiration for her community and all sports lovers.

Congratulations to Lorena for this achievement and for continuing to raise the name of Mexico in the global sports arena.

Lorena is an example of perseverance and passion for running!
