This Friday, January 31, 2025, the toll collection began on the Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway or the Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido highway, a road that was inaugurated on February 4, 2024, and that less than a year after opening began charging motorists.

Since January 31, 2025, toll collection began on the Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido highway.

Toll collection began on the Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway, which is the name of the Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido highway.

The toll cost is 468 pesos for cars and 234 pesos for motorcycles.

The toll applies to visitors from other states and to cargo transportation.

Cars with Oaxaca license plates do not pay a toll (at least for now).

Although at the inauguration on February 4, 2024, former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the highway would be free, the fact that they are starting to charge is causing discomfort among the population.

Some travelers have pointed out that the toll payment is costly, and are asking for a reduction.
