Children’s soccer team kidnapped in San Luis Potosí; members found alive in Aguascalientes.
Members of the children’s soccer team “Real Cachorros” were kidnapped by armed men while traveling on federal highway 49, on the border with Zacatecas.
The events occurred on Saturday, January 25, after the vehicle in which the team from San Luis Potosí was traveling along with their families was intercepted by armed men after returning from a tournament in Guadalupe, Zacatecas.
Local media reported that after blocking their way, the subjects forced the driver to give up control of the unit and diverted the vehicle to a dirt road.
It was there that they robbed them of their mobile phones, watches, wallets, and cash, and then took the vehicle and abandoned them there.
The Attorney General’s Office of the State of San Luis Potosí reported that after the report of the alleged non-location of the vehicle and its subsequent search, the minors and their companions were located alive in Aguascalientes.
The search efforts were carried out by the Investigative Police, together with the State Civil Guard, the State Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, and the Secretariat of National Defense.
