On January 17, Alejandra Ceccopieri decided to go on strike outside the MG car dealership located on Miguel Hidalgo Boulevard in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, after they sold her a defective SUV and refused to respond.
To the young woman’s surprise, when she made her case public, numerous citizens came to keep her company with cake, mariachis, piñatas, and even local and national media.
The complainant said that since she bought the car, it had the minimum amount of transmission oil, so the gearbox was damaged, but the dealership does not want to give her a solution and has even threatened her.
On January 19, after two days of protesting outside the MG dealership in Reynosa, Alejandra Ceccopieri received a favorable response regarding the truck she bought for 500 thousand pesos, which turned out to have mechanical faults.
Accompanied by a support group, the young woman got the company to offer her a borrowed car while her situation was resolved. In addition, she signed an agreement to formalize a contract on Monday, January 20, in the presence of personnel from the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).
The legal representatives and executives of the MG company approached the affected woman to inform her that her request had been attended to. In turn, they offered her a loaned vehicle and assured her that an official agreement would be held on Monday, which marked the high point of the demonstration.
Alejandra’s situation became a focus of attention, attracting the support of hundreds of people who sympathized with her cause.
