Another incident involving abusive taxi drivers, this time in Cozumel

Taxi drivers in Cancun and Playa del Carmen have become extremely popular lately, and not precisely for their kindness and service attitude, but quite the opposite.

Numerous cases of taxi drivers have been reported intimidating and assaulting tourists; and for charging them ridiculous amounts of money for short trips.

And on January 13, a video went viral showing once again a taxi driver insulting a foreign tourist who refused to pay him 100 US dollars for transporting him from one point to another on the island.

In the video, the taxi driver can be heard insulting the tourist several times.

Users on social networks leaked the argument between this Cozumel taxi driver and a tourist over the demand for a payment of 100 dollars.

According to information provided through social networks, the taxi driver, who is affiliated with the union “Adolfo López Mateos,” got out of the vehicle in front of the Naval Sector facilities to confront the user, who was accompanied by a woman, for not giving him 100 dollars corresponding to his service.

In the video that was recorded by one of the handicraft vendors located in this area, an emboldened taxi driver can be seen shouting and insulting the tourist on several occasions.

Later, the taxi driver denied the facts, but the video remained as evidence.
