THE CANADIAN NATIONAL WAS AN ALLEGED FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE
Last week, on Dec. 21st, a Canadian man is killed outside the X’aman Ha plaza in Playa del Carmen.
A man of Canadian origin, who had an arrest warrant in his country for arms trafficking and human trafficking, was shot to death in the parking lot of the exclusive X’aman Ha shopping mall, located on Balamcanché Avenue, near the Playacar complex.
According to initial reports, the victim identified as Matthew “N” was riding his black Grand Cherokee when two men on a motorcycle shot him several times, then escaped in an unknown direction.
The sound of the detonations caused panic among the people who were shopping and the surrounding areas, who quickly sought shelter and called the emergency number 911.
Municipal police officers arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area while waiting for the staff of the State Attorney General’s Office to carry out the corresponding procedures.
A strong operation was deployed in the area to find those responsible, without any arrests so far for this incident.
