Man executed inside a Mexico City restaurant in broad daylight

Mexico City was the scene of a violent incident that even caught the attention of the United States authorities, who issued a security alert to their citizens to avoid the Polanco area, Miguel Hidalgo municipality; the place where in less than a minute the murder of a man who was inside a restaurant in Plaza Miyana was perpetrated.

The events took place shortly after 4:00 p.m. on December 4 in the Granada neighborhood. Information from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of CDMX reports that two men arrived at the El Bajío restaurant, approached a table where four people were sitting, and shot one of them.

Hours after the attack, journalist Antonio Nieto (@siete_letras) shared a 56-second video that confirms how the attack occurred.

The material obtained from a security camera at the establishment shows that, at 4:04 p.m., two subjects wearing motorcycle helmets arrived. One of them takes it away, while both approach two waiters.

After identifying themselves as deliverymen to the restaurant workers and asking about the victim’s location to presumably deliver an order, they both enter, ready to commit the crime.

A second recording released by journalist Carlos Jiménez (@c4jimenez) shows the moment in which the attackers identify the victim and position themselves less than a meter away from him. After a couple of seconds, they both shoot him repeatedly.

The video also shows how two men who were accompanying the victim flee the scene as soon as they notice the attack, while a woman, who was also at the table, takes longer to leave the crime scene.

“The victim received at least 10 shots,” confirmed Pablo Vazquez Camacho, head of the SSC.

Reports by journalist Antonio Nieto indicate that the victim is Jesús Pérez Alvear, former manager of singer Gerardo Ortiz, who also allegedly had ties to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG).
