Alfredo Beltrán Guzmán, ‘El Tito’, son of Alfredo Beltrán Leyva was arrested in Culiacán

He was arrested during a confrontation in the town of Mojolo, north of Culiacán with members of the Mexican Army and the Mexican Navy.

Alfredo Guzmán Beltrán, alias ‘El Tito’, son of Alfredo Beltrán Leyva ‘El Mochomo’, who is currently incarcerated in the United States for drug trafficking and other crimes, was arrested on Friday, November 29th, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, after a confrontation between federal forces and hitmen from an organized crime group.

According to the information so far, the confrontation in which Alfredo Guzmán Beltrán was arrested took place in the town of Mojolo, north of Culiacán. There, armed civilians clashed with members of the Mexican Army and the Mexican Navy.

The arrest was the result of a security operation in the area.

Guzmán Beltrán was reportedly injured during the confrontation and had to be taken to a hospital under arrest. He is under heavy security.

His transfer to the hospital may have been carried out in a Mexican Navy helicopter, which was seen landing at the scene of the confrontation. He may have been quickly transferred to Mexico City.

According to residents of Mojolo, the confrontation ended with several civilians dead and others wounded, all of them allegedly belonging to the security group of the son of ‘El Mochomo’.

So far, neither the Navy nor the National Defense Secretariat has made any statement regarding the arrest of Alfredo Guzmán Beltrán, alias ‘El Tito’, son of Alfredo Beltrán Leyva ‘El Mochomo’.

El Tito is one of the so-called ‘Three Gentlemen’ of the Beltrán Leyva brothers, creators of one of the most powerful drug cartels of the 1990s.

In December 2016, he was arrested in Zapopan, Jalisco for crimes such as kidnapping and possession of weapons for the exclusive use of the Army. He is also accused of being one of those responsible for the abduction of Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán’s sons, Iván Archivaldo and Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, in 2016 in Guadalajara.

In September 2021, he was released from prison after serving half of his sentence, which was 10 years.
