Six bodies piled up with signs of torture were found on the Reynosa-San Fernando highway, near the Periquitos and Plan del Alazán Ejidos, the Tamaulipas Public Security Spokesperson reported.
A 911 call led to the discovery of the bound bodies with signs of violence on Friday, November 22nd, at 9 a.m. The road was closed to traffic while forensic technicians proceeded to remove the remains.
The multiple homicide is attributed to the dispute between criminal groups for control of the San Fernando “turf” in irregular activities such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, and collection of fees.
During this week there have been several clashes in the state of Tamaulipas, not far from the U.S. border, with three police officers dead. Because of this, activity has been disrupted in municipalities such as San Fernando where schools have been closed and classes suspended for security reasons.
The governor of Tamaulipas, Américo Villarreal Anaya, announced that security has already been reinforced throughout the San Fernando region and that the clashes that have occurred are the consequence of the actions of the authorities to try to maintain control of security.
Violent crimes and executions proliferate around the country while the Federal authorities keep saying that the crime index is going down.
