Shooting on the Reynosa-San Fernando highway, six dead reported

In the early morning hours of this Tuesday, November 19th, gunshots and blockades were reported on the Reynosa-San Fernando highway, near the municipality of Pedro J. Méndez, the Tamaulipas Security Spokesperson confirmed through social media; in light of this situation, an operation was deployed on federal highway 101.

For its part, the X.com account Valor Por Tamaulipas wrote: “Ambush of state police on the #San_Fernando highway near the Tres Palos ejido: one state officer is dead, another is injured, a patrol car has been stolen and a van was seized by police. Be careful, if circulating in the area due to tire killers, blockades, and burning of vehicles”; however, there is no official confirmation of the death.

Later, it was reported that two police officers were killed, as well as four alleged hitmen, although no details were given regarding the causes of the deaths, although the stolen patrol car was recovered.

Earlier, a blockade with tractor-trailers was reported on the San Fernando Punta de Piedra-Carbonera Norte bypass, near La Capilla del Noreste, and another one in Ejido Las Norias.
