An individual was arrested in the state capital of Nuevo Leon as he was caught trying to steal a passenger bus.
Since he had driving skills, José de Jesús ‘P’ got into the unit with the engine on, the keys in the ignition, and without a driver.
The man was immediately arrested at the Monterrey Bus Station for trying to steal a bus belonging to the company Transportes Frontera, reported the Monterrey police.
According to the police corporation, José de Jesús ‘P’ is originally from Guanajuato and the events took place in the bus station located on Colón and Villagrán, in the center of Monterrey.
Officers stationed at the Bus Terminal received a complaint from a 51-year-old man who identified himself as a Transportes Frontera bus driver, who explained that when he arrived at the station he was waiting to be assigned his route; however, a colleague approached him and said that his vehicle was not on the platform.
When he went to look for it, he noticed that an unknown person was driving the Transportes Frontera bus, a 2015 model, with license plate number 701-JV-5, from Mexico City, heading towards the exit of the Bus Terminal boarding platforms area, so he requested the help of the police officers.
The suspect said that it was easy for him to get on the unit since the engine was on and there was nobody in the driver’s seat, so he decided to “move” the bus since he had driving skills.
The man was arrested and taken to the Monterrey Police headquarters, where he was placed under the custody of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
