The local deputy of Tamaulipas, Vicente Verástegui Ostos, was kidnapped this Friday, as confirmed by the state Prosecutor’s Office.

Ciudad Victoria.- The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Tamaulipas and the Security Spokesperson of Tamaulipas confirmed the kidnapping of local deputy Vicente Verástegui Ostos, brother of the former candidate for governor for the PAN, César Verástegui “El Truko”.

The Prosecutor’s Office reported that, based on the report of the deprivation of liberty of local deputy Vicente Verastegui Ostos in the vicinity of the municipalities of Xicoténcatl and El Mante, an Investigation File has been opened, and a search operation has been implemented.

For this reason, an inter-institutional team has been formed with elements of the State Guard, the State Search Commission, and the Attorney General’s Office; carrying out the necessary investigations and proceedings to clarify the facts and locate the Deputy.

Through a statement, it indicated that as soon as more information is available, and the procedural moment allows it, it will be released.

For its part, the Security Spokesperson stated the following:

“It is confirmed that the person kidnapped in the Ejido Emiliano Zapata of Xicoténcatl is the Local Deputy Vicente Javier Verástegui Ostos.”

A helicopter with night vision and a group of special forces from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), joined the search operation for the local deputy of the PAN, Vicente Verástegui Ostos, reported tonight the Coordination Table for the Construction of Peace.

The team, which has advanced technology and special equipment, carried out search operations on Friday night, on rural roads and ranches on the borders of Xicoténcatl and El Mante, trying to find the whereabouts of the local legislator.
