The mayor of Chilpancingo, Alejandro Arcos Catalán, was murdered this Sunday, October 6th.
His head was found on the roof of a truck in the Villas del Roble neighborhood, in the east of the capital of Guerrero.
Arcos Catalán had taken office just last Monday, September 30.
Guerrero Attorney General’s Office investigates the murder of the mayor in Chilpancingo.
Through a statement, the Guerrero Attorney General’s Office reported that it has opened an investigation file against whoever is responsible for the murder of Mayor Alejandro Arcos.
He explained that agents from the Ministerial Investigative Police and the Forensic Services of the same prosecutor’s office went to the scene of the events to carry out the corresponding investigation and thus obtain data that would help clarify the murder of the young politician.
Just four days before, Alejandro Arcos had sent a message to the state and federal governments expressing that he feared for his life due to the death threats he had received.
