The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) called for a hearing on November 12 at 2:00 p.m. at its headquarters in Washington DC to discuss issues related to the judicial reform published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on September 15.

Through a statement, the executive secretary, Tania Reneaum Panszi, responded to the request of the American Initiative for Justice (IAJ) of Federico Ariel Vaschetto; of the National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Judicial Branch of the Federation, Civil Association (JUFED), Juana Fuentes Velázquez; No. PS 191-1133 in which a hearing is proposed during the next period of sessions of the IACHR to address issues related to judicial reform.

“To participate in the hearing above, those attending must have the corresponding accreditation. To this end, you must send to the IACHR, within the next 10 days, confirmation of your attendance on the date and time indicated above, and the list of persons comprising your delegation,” the statement says.

Likewise, it requested that within 20 days, starting from September 30, 2024, a written document summarizing the main aspects of your presentation be sent to the Commission and any documentation deemed necessary within the hearing framework.

Finally, the IACHR announced that said hearing was granted by unifying more than one request: “The requesting organizations of all the unified requests must divide the corresponding time,” it warned.
