The murders occurred in only one hour in different communities of the state; these terrible crimes are attributed to the dispute between two drug cartels.

Twelve people – four women and eight men – were executed on Thursday, October 3rd, in five points of Salamanca, Guanajuato, after the massacre in the annex of the El Rosario neighborhood, recorded on the night of October 1, 2024, where four young people died. Local authorities attributed the violence to the dispute between two cartels for the plaza.

The murders occurred in sixteen minutes on the Salamanca-Valle de Santiago highway bypass, in the communities of Valtierrilla, Los Lobos, Cerro Gordo, and the La Cruz neighborhood.

In all of the incidents, the victims had gunshot wounds, some of them had signs of violence and their hands or feet were tied. The crimes became known after 6:00 a.m. In several places, there were banners presumably with the name of the Santa Rosa de Lima Cartel.

At around 6:00 a.m. a young man was found dead on a traffic lane of the vehicular bridge on Valle de Santiago Avenue; next to the body was a written message from an alleged criminal group.

In the Los Lobos community, two women and two men were shot and killed. Security officers and paramedics arrived at a dirt road, near crop fields, where they confirmed the multiple homicide.

Minutes later, a man and a woman were shot dead; their bound bodies were found under the vehicular bridge, at the entrance to the Valtierrilla community.
