President Andrés Manuel López Obrador inaugurated the Boca de Chila Naval Sector in Nayarit, which will house sailors who serve in security duties on the coast of Nayarit.
This Naval Sector, in addition to guaranteeing the safety of visitors to the tourist area of Bahía de Banderas, will serve to board a ferry to reach the Tourist Center of the Islas Marías.
Accompanied by the president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the head of the Executive recognized the work of the Secretary of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda Durán, as well as the sailors who contribute to the development of the country.
During the flag-raising of sailors, the president extended his gratitude to all members of the Navy.
In his last public act in the company of sailors, President López Obrador recognized the decision of the president-elect to name Admiral Raymundo Pedro Morales Ángeles as the next Secretary of the Navy.
“I got to know Admiral Morales because he was in charge of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec project. I know that he is an honest, hard-working man whom the president-elect has decided to appoint as Secretary of the Navy, so that the future of the government, the future of our country, is guaranteed,” AMLO concluded.
