Putin will not attend Claudia Sheinbaum’s inauguration on Tuesday, October 1st in Mexico City.

Vladimir Putin, president of Russia, declined Sheinbaum’s invitation to attend his inauguration as president of Mexico on October 1.

According to the Kremlin spokesman, the Russian president has already designated who would attend the event on his behalf, which the Mexican authorities have already been informed of.

In his place, Nikolay Sofinskiy, Russia’s ambassador to Mexico, would attend, according to unofficial sources.

Nikolay Sofinskiy, the Russian ambassador to Mexico, will attend the inauguration of President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo on October 1, representing Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian president sent a letter in response to the invitation made to him by Sheinbaum Pardo’s team to attend the inauguration ceremony, in which he confirmed that he would not be able to participate in the event.
