President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum appoints new heads of SEDENA and SEMAR

President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum has appointed new heads of the Mexican Army (SEDENA) and Navy (SEMAR).

Claudia Sheinbaum appointed Ricardo Trevilla, Major General with a Diploma in the General Staff, head of the Secretariat of National Defense, and Raymundo Morales, Admiral CG. DEM (Inspector and Comptroller General of the Navy.

In an official statement, the president-elect recognized the work and dedication of General Luis Cresencio Sandoval and Admiral José Ojeda, who were the secretaries during the six-year term of Andres Manuel López Obrador.

Sheinbaum said that the decision was made “after an exhaustive review of the best profiles to occupy the leadership of said agencies and after holding meetings with those mentioned above.”
