Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada will be transferred to New York: a judge in Texas authorizes and confirms the transfer
On Thursday, September 5th, Kathleen Cardone, a federal judge in Texas, approved the transfer of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada to the New York Court and ordered the suspension of the trial opened in El Paso, Texas.
She also confirmed that the process of transporting the drug lord to New York has begun, according to a statement released on Thursday in which it was revealed that Zambada changed his mind and did not oppose changing courts.
In the Court where the co-founder of the Sinaloa Cartel is headed, Zambada faces charges of conspiracy for the international manufacture and distribution of narcotics, among other accusations.
The trial will begin in the same court in which Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was tried.
