The museum has six rooms dedicated to various aspects of local history and culture.

The Mummies Hñähñus de Caltimacán Museum is expanding its exhibition by incorporating two additional mummified bodies, which have been exhibited since Saturday, August 17.

With this addition, the museum now has a total of eight mummified bodies on display, each one retaining its original clothing, giving visitors a unique perspective into the past.

“These two mummified bodies are women, one of them with an approximate age of 100 years and the other of about 42 years. The oldest woman retains part of her funerary trousseau, including a typical work blouse from the regional dress of the Mezquital Valley,” explained Andrés Ramírez, coordinator of events for this space.

The museum has six rooms dedicated to various aspects of local history and culture. The exhibits include topics such as the mummification process, the daily life of the Otomi culture, recreations of graves, and an area for temporary exhibitions and archaeology.

In addition, it pays tribute to the tradition of the Day of the Dead, highlighting the geological and natural mummification processes that occurred in the region, as well as the historical occupation of the human settlement in the town.

With the incorporation of these two new mummified bodies, the museum reaffirms its commitment to the preservation and dissemination of the rich cultural heritage of the region, offering visitors an educational and deeply moving experience.
