Six men arrested in Tabasco carrying drugs and weapons

Villahermosa, Tabasco (Jul 10, 2024).- In the state of Tabasco, personnel from the National Guard, in coordination with members of the Mexican Army, detained six people in possession of long weapons, magazines and useful cartridges, as well as doses of marijuana and cocaine.

During security and crime prevention patrols in the municipality of Teapa, members of both institutions observed, from a distance, a truck that was traveling on a local road in the Galeana neighborhood, whose crew members were carrying long weapons and who, upon noticing the presence of the units Officers accelerated the vehicle to move away from the scene.

The officers implemented a search device and a few kilometers ahead, on the Villahermosa-Teapa highway, they realized that the truck, with the armed people on board, remained parked on the asphalt, with a flat tire.

The members of the National Guard and the Mexican Army adopted the corresponding security protocols.

They ordered them to get out of the unit and throw the weapons on the floor. Seeing themselves outnumbered, they voluntarily surrendered and were detained, ensuring the following at the scene:
l 335 useful cartridges of various calibers.
l 9 chargers.
l 7 long weapons and one short.
l 20 doses of marijuana and cocaine.

The people were read the Book of Rights that Assist Persons in Detention, they were registered in the National Registry of Detentions and, together with the war material, the vehicle and the seized substances were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities. .
