Guerrero Bishop Salvador Rangel kidnapped and later found in a hospital in Morelos

Local authorities were investigating the express kidnapping of Bishop Salvador Rangel, leader of the Catholic Church in the state of Guerrero when they unexpectedly found him in a Morelos hospital.

The Attorney General’s Office of Morelos reported that Monsignor Salvador Rangel Mendoza, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Chilpancingo-Chilapa, Guerrero.

The report indicated that he was last seen in Jiutepec, which initiated the disappearance report, which led to his discovery this Monday, April 29th in a hospital center in the municipality of Cuernavaca, Morelos.

Uriel Carmona, the prosecutor of Morelos, reported that the line of investigation of an express kidnapping to deprive him of money with the use of ATMs continues.

So far, the medical staff has not authorized the patient to make any statement.

The hypothesis is that he was deprived of his freedom by subjects to make purchases with his bank cards.

Bishop Salvador Rangel is reported stable but will have to remain hospitalized until his health improves.
