Presidential candidate Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo suspended her visit to the city of Apatzingán, in the state of Michoacan after days of violent acts across the region.

The Morena party team in Michoacán announced the suspension of Claudia Sheinbaum’s visit to the municipality of Apatzingán due to the acts of violence in recent days.

Raúl Morón, a candidate for Senator, confirmed that the presidential candidate will be in Lázaro Cádenas, Uruapan, Chilchota, and Zamora from May 1 to 2, but “she will visit Apatzingán in another occasion.”

Although they did not detail the reasons for the change in the agenda, this decision was announced after the violent days recorded this weekend and the closure of some gas stations that were accused of being threatened by the cartels.
