Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca.- The supervisor of school zone 06 of Special Education in the Mixteca, Giovanni González Villareal, reported that children with disabilities will dance the Jarabe Mixteco in a monumental way on December 3 in an action coordinated with the Academy of Jarabe Mixteco, where they seek to make a more inclusive society in Huajuapan de León.
González Villareal indicated that these activities are oriented so that young people and children are included in society, and at the same time inclusive societies are formed, so within the framework of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities that is commemorated on December 3 , students from the different Multiple Care Centers in the Mixteca region will dance the Jarabe Mixteco in a monumental way.
He said that the CAMs that are integrated into the activity are: Santo Domingo Tonalá, Huajuapan de León, Tamazulápam Villa del Progreso and Santiago Juxtlahuaca.
He said that “there is something that identifies us all, which is that social work that as professionals and as human beings we have to give to our society, zone 06 of Special Education has coverage of 4 communities with a population of 700 children. with some disability, and who will be the ones who will be dancing the Jarabe Mixteco.”
For his part, Oziel Ledezma Rivera, a member of the Academia del Jarabe Mixteco, reported that, in 2019, Anastasio Villareal Díaz promoted the Jarabe Mixteco revelry, which was to dance this dance en masse, so 4 years later this activity It will be done again, but now including children with disabilities.
He expressed that “culture is a right and they – children with disabilities – have that right to know why the Jarabe Mixteco is danced. This activity will take place on December 2 and 3, but not only children with disabilities will participate, but “All those who want to dance this are and relive what was achieved in 2019.”
He emphasized that in 2019 the first Jarabe Mixteco monument was developed, however, he added that now the objective will be to embrace children with disabilities and for them to be included in these cultural activities.
