The Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec is already a reality, and will begin to operate with the announcement made this Friday by the president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, in the sense of bidding for a total of 10 industrial parks, each one with more than 300 hectares on average.
The president said that the call will be launched shortly and the companies that inject their investments into the parks will have tax benefits. “They are going to pay less in VAT, in income taxes, all with the purpose that this corridor develops and generates employment, work for the people,” he explained.
The evaluation of the industrial parks will be part of the private tour that President López Obrador is carrying out this weekend. “We are going to evaluate the ten industrial parks on the Isthmus. We are about to tender, it is about 10 parks in the entire strip of the Isthmus with an average of 300 hectares per park, with water, gas, electricity and something very important, the companies that are established will have fiscal support “.
He explained that in the same project of the Isthmus are the 120 kilometers of railways in Veracruz concessioned to Ferrosur, which the federal government occupied since last week, with the purpose of recovering those concessions.
“We are going to rescue the Grupo México concession. We are already talking with them to reach an agreement, ”he concluded.
On the other hand, this Friday night President López Obrador led a meeting to evaluate the Port of Coatzacoalcos and advances in Industrial Parks. There he said that in fifteen days the call for the settlement of investors in the ten development poles of the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT) will be published, of which five will be for Veracruz and another five for Oaxaca.
He affirmed that he will also supervise the rehabilitation works of the train tracks in the section that goes from Palenque, Chiapas to Coatzacoalcos.
