REYNOSA, TAMAULIPAS.- Armed civilians and members of the Mexican Army clashed once again in this city, at the entrance to the Reynosa-Pharr International Bridge.

It was reported that elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) also participated in the shooting confrontation that occurred in the vicinity of the Corrales and El Guerreño ejidos.

Unofficially, three gunmen were reported killed.

There were rows of tractor-trailers that were stranded for kilometers due to the shooting, one more of those that have been carried out in the region in recent weeks.

It was reported that the drivers had to get out of the units to take shelter during the shooting between organized crime gangs.

Shootings were also reported south of the city, in the Unidad Obrera, Nuevo Amanecer, Loma Blanca, and Almaguer neighborhoods at the exit to San Fernando.

No official statement has been issued about the incident.

For days a confrontation between cells of the Gulf Cartel has been reported, between the municipalities of Reynosa, Matamoros, and San Fernando.

The federal government sent more than 700 federal elements to the region to do preventive work and inhibit the activity of criminal groups.
