The Mexican company Volaris strengthens connectivity in these important national destinations, helping to boost tourism and business activity.
Volaris, the ultra-low-cost airline that operates in Mexico, the United States, Central and South America, announces the launch of two new routes that will connect the beaches of Cancun with Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora, and the city of Querétaro with Los Cabos, in Baja California Sur.
Querétaro is positioning itself more and more as a tourist and business destination of national stature, thanks to the attractiveness and diversity that it offers to visitors, by combining history, nature and culinary offer, which has allowed it to advance in the recovery of this activity, exceeding 2 million tourists during 2022.
For its part, Los Cabos stands out as one of the beach tourist destinations with the most growth projection in the country, with an airport that at the end of 2022 was ranked as the third with the most attraction of foreign visitors nationwide, only behind from CDMX and Cancun, with a 25.1% growth in arrivals, according to figures from the Baja California Sur Ministry of Tourism and the Los Cabos Tourism Trust.
Cancun remains the favorite Mexican destination for travelers, placing its airport as the main airport in terms of receiving foreign tourists, above that of Mexico City, since according to data from the federal Ministry of Tourism, in 2022 Cancun received to 9.4 million international tourists, almost 50% of what the country received in general.
Hermosillo is a destination that is characterized by its economic dynamism led by agricultural, manufacturing and mining export activity, as well as the growing tourist and business potential. According to the Hermosillo Convention and Visitors Bureau, at Easter it registered an occupancy rate of around 75 percent.
‘At Volaris we continue working to expand our operation and connectivity within the country for the benefit of Mexicans, opening new routes that connect directly and at the lowest cost to more cities, boosting the flow of travelers that, in the case of these new routes , they will help strengthen the economic activity of these regions with an important tourist vocation, being one of the main places that are sought after for vacations among travelers,’ said Omar Carrera, commercial director of Volaris.
These routes are added to those recently announced by the airline during the last edition of the Tianguis Turístico, which will connect the cities of Guadalajara with Loreto and Mexicali with Los Cabos.
