On Sunday, April 30th, a strong explosion was reported in Tamaulipas, according to the first reports the events a tanker loaded with fuel exploded in the border city of Matamoros.
The explosion caused a huge fire on the Matamoros-Reynosa highway, near the “Las Ventanas” Industrial Park.
The fire lasted for several hours, firefighters and Civil Protection Staff spent hours trying to put out the fire, until they finally achieved that goal in the early morning hours of Monday, May, 1st.
Staff from the Mexican Red Cross, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army also arrived on the site.
