Although still with a significantly lower assembly capacity than China and the United States, Mexico remains in the top 10 largest car producers in the world.

Mexico is one of the main automobile producers in the world; occupying position seven in the top 10 and with a production level of 3.51 million units during 2022.

The leading producer in the world is China, which closed last year with a total of 27.02 million units, and the United States, with 10.06 million assembled cars.

Besides Mexico, Brazil is the only other Latin American country that is in the top 10 car producers.

The automotive industry is also one of the most important for the Mexican economy, being the manufacturing sector that generates the most money and one of the main sources of foreign currency.
