Santa Lucía del Camino, Oaxaca.- By stating that “very little is left,” President Andrés Manuel López Obrador hoped that by July or August of this year the Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido highway would be completed, which he will reduce from six to two hours the transfer time.

In a morning press conference in the Eighth Military Region, the President reported that due to an agrarian problem between the communities of Sola de Vega and San Vicente Coatlán, the progress of the work had been prevented, but he affirmed that an agreement is already being sought and work is being done day and night for this highway to be inaugurated in the coming months.

“I hope that by July of this year the race from Oaxaca to Puerto Escondido will be completed. I am grateful to the inhabitants of San Vicente Coatlán who accepted an agreement to continue building that highway and there is very little to go, but there is an agrarian conflict between Sola de Vega and San Vicente Coatlán and mediation is being sought, an agreement.”

“The highway was stopped, but those from San Vicente are already acting in a very, very supportive, very responsible manner and the work has already continued, because we had already considered the possibility of changing the route, but the people of San Vicente understood that It was important to continue with the layout, to continue building the work and the problem has already been resolved and the companies are already working day and night to inaugurate the highway in July, August,” said President López Obrador.
