Members of the National Guard and municipal police intercepted a group of undocumented people walking along federal highway 307 that goes from Puerto Morelos to Cancún, in the state of Quintana Roo.

The rescue occurred this Saturday when the group was apparently walking aimlessly on the Puerto Morelos-Cancun highway, near the Cancun International Airport.

The National Institute of Migration (INM) of the Ministry of the Interior today helped 503 migrants from Central and South America who had been staying -for two weeks- in tents on the perimeter of Plaza Giordano Bruno, in the Juárez neighborhood of Mexico City.

These are 169 women and 275 adult men, as well as 59 minors, mostly from Haiti and Venezuela, who received a Visitor Card for Humanitarian Reasons from the immigration authority that allows them to access health services and opportunities. of employment.

To this end, members of the Beta Groups and Child Protection Officers (OPI) of the INM, in coordination with elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City, provided support – without incident and in full adherence to the human rights – to foreigners to keep their belongings and board the buses that will take them to the State of Mexico, Hidalgo, and Morelos.

The INM thus endorses its commitment to safe, orderly, and regular migration, with respect and safeguarding the rights of those who enter and transit through national territory.
