On the Mexican Pacific coast is Oaxaca, a colonial city that differs from the rest for not being at the forefront of development but with its cultural roots still intact.

The historic center is one of more than 30 in Mexico that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It is home to a great indigenous culture, vibrant arts and crafts scene, colorful festivities, delicious local cuisine, and dazzling natural beauty.

One of the best Day of the Dead festivals is held in this city from November 1-2.
