It’s official, the news we didn’t want to come true is happening; Blink-182 cancels its concerts in Mexico and Latin America after an injury to Travis Barker’s left hand ring finger that led him to undergo surgery.
Blink-182 was about to resume its career alongside its original lineup, Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker, after nearly ten years apart. The wait was long but hope never died and the impossible seemed to be a reality, however, everything indicates that we will have to wait a little longer, since the Blink-182 tour will be postponed.
Blink-182 cancels its dates in Mexico and Latin America
Rumors have become official, Blink-182 will have to cancel their concerts in Mexico and Latin America, including the festivals in which they would participate this year, including Lollapalooza in Chile and Tecate Pa’l Norte in Monterrey.
The rumors started when Travis Barker shared that he had injured his finger during one of the band’s rehearsals, for which he had to undergo surgery. The intervention took place on February 27 and, although he has not reported his state of health, it is obvious that he will have to rest for a speedy recovery.
The statement was issued by vocalist Tom DeLonge through his Instagram account, with a video in which he apologized for the cancellation of the concerts, but it was about Travis’s recovery, an accident that, of course, was unexpected.
“I wanted to tell you that I apologize to everyone in South America for not being able to be there. This is something that we had wanted to do for a long time, and we worked so hard, and we just had one of those accidents that nobody saw coming. Travis needs surgery on his finger, and we must fix him before we can do anything. This is so sad”, began expressing the vocalist of the American band.
Likewise, the musician expressed that since it is such an important tour, they plan to return, probably, by 2024 and meet the dates that have been canceled, including Lollapalooza, Estéreo Picnic, Asunciónico, Tecate Pa’l Norte and Imperial GNP Tijuana. In addition, he assured that they do not intend to continue with the presentations if the three of them are not together.
“We love you, Blink-182 loves you, we’ll see you soon,” said Tom DeLonge.
Until now, it has not been reported if the tickets already obtained will be refunded, however, fans hope that they can be used for the new dates.
